On July 13th Lotic will present their debut album ‘Power’ amongst the immersive walls of MONOM’s 4DSOUND installation at Funkhaus, Berlin. As a physical realisation of the Houston born, Berlin based artist’s spatially inquisitive work, this one-off event will serve as both a manifestation of the album’s microscopic nuances and a celebration of its release that day via Tri-Angle Records.
'Power’ is the soundtrack to a search for empowerment, sourcing various strands of Lotic’s identity and binding them together with references both discreet and uncensored. At the same time, it questions the very definition of the word, reflecting on the varying ways in which empowerment might present itself. The hypnotic rhythmic patterns of Texan marching bands lend support to crystalline melodic airs and frenzied ambient distortions. For the first time, Lotic’s own vocals play a central role, commanding a dialogue within the animated ecosystem of their sonic world, whilst simultaneously addressing the listener directly.
The evening is joined by special guest Shapednoise and co-presented by CTM.

MONOM will host Lotic over the next month, during an intensive residency period, where the artist will sculpt a spatial version of his album in 4DSOUND preparing for a single exclusive performance at the venue.
As the result of ten years of research, development and experimentation in spatial sound technology, 4DSOUND enables its residents to actualise vivid sonic environments, blurring the boundaries between the real and the imagined.
‘I am extremely excited to expand the world of power with this unique set up! My work has always been quite spatial in nature, so I am looking forward to presenting it beyond the standard stereo experience, and especially in Berlin. It’s somehow become a rarity for me to play in my own city, so I can't think of a more perfect way to present the album for the first time and, on top of that, in a way that will only be possible in a space such as this.’ - Lotic
