Co-Presented by MONOM and MIRA Festival , ‘Hear The World Begin’ is an interactive audiovisual installation in 4DSOUND that involves working with data and material of cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB). The CMB is a snapshot of the oldest light in our Universe, imprinted on the sky when the Universe was just 380,000 years old after the Big Bang. It represents the seeds of the whole future structure: the stars and galaxies of today. The aim of this project is to bring this oldest map of the universe and scientific data into a tangible art form, engaging a comprehension and interaction that lies beyond objective reality, bringing about an intimate experience and personal projection of space.
The project invites for discovery of the relations and resonances between the physical present and an imaginative past. During the presentation, the audience is encouraged to explore these existential ideas by taking part in a choreography of data sonification and visualization, playing with spatial acoustic-lighting and real-time interacting with the space through localization and movement sensors.
The proposal of this project had received award of "Honorary Mention" jointly by Ars Electronica and the European Space Agency, 2016

Aloïs Yang
Aloïs Yang, born 1986 in Dax, France, raised in Taiwan, now based in Berlin, is a media artist, interaction designer and experimental musician who produces work that explores the relation and interaction between people, sound, and the external world. His work is influenced both by scientific references and human imperfection of understanding nature.
He overcomes the separation of art forms and genres with an integrated creative approach. He uses a wide range of media, from interactive installation to fictional story telling videos and live audiovisual performance. His work crafts a journey with open endings to both artist and audience. Interaction in Yang’s work takes place not just in objective reality, but also inside of intimate experience and imaginative projection. These include traveling among such varied subjects as brain function, facial expression, micro reality, virtual time-space, starlight and apocalypse.

SPATIAL SOUND INSTITUTE
The Spatial Sound Institute is a research and development centre for spatial sound technologies and practices based in Budapest, Hungary.
Since its opening in October 2015, the Institute hosts a multidisciplinary program cultivating spatial sound as an emerging area of study. Housed over 3 floors of the AQB arts complex on the banks of the river Danube, the facility is centered around a large-scale 4DSOUND studio used for artist residencies, educational workshops, and regular public events.
The Institute also maintains a historical archive of works created in 4DSOUND over the past decade, with projects and publications from over a hundred contributors in the fields of music, technology, architecture and media arts.

MIRA Digital Arts Festival
MIRA is a digital arts festival based on three interconnected areas: exhibition, divulgation and education, and is held annually in Barcelona (since 2011). Focused on the intersection between art and digital culture, the festival features a programme comprised of audiovisual shows in both traditional and fulldome formats, digital art installations, screenings, conferences and workshops.
MIRA wants to bring the audience closer to several realms of artistic creativity through an event with two main objectives: to function as a platform for new creators as well as a showcase for world-renowned artists and to create unique immersive experiences through technological innovation and the interlacing of live music and visuals.
