Do you run a spatial sound venue / space in Europe? Participate in the European Spatial Sound Exchange (ESSE), a pilot project by Monom, as part of MusicAIRE (An Innovative Recovery for Europe), co-funded by the European Union.
In this pilot project, Monom will open up the dialogue with European spatial sound venues and event organisers to explore how spatial sound works by musicians can be shared between European venues with spatial sound capabilities (a multichannel sound system). Four venues (music venues, cinemas, theatres…) with spatial sound capabilities will be selected to participate in the pilot project, collaborating with Monom and setting up an event in their space.
How to participate
PHASE ONE - ONLINE EXCHANGES
Monom will hold two online exchanges in May for stakeholders interested in the pilot project. These online exchanges are open to spatial sound-equipped venues and event organisers that have organised events using spatial sound in the past. Participants must be based in the European Union.
During these online exchanges, participants will:
Get to know Monom and 4DSOUND
Learn about the European Spatial Sound Exchange and the open call
Engage in a conversation about sharing spatial sound works between venues and envisioning a potential network
The online exchanges took place in May
PHASE TWO - OPEN CALL
Four spatial sound venues will be selected to participate in the European Spatial Sound Exchange. Each venue will receive a stipend of 3,000 € to participate and is expected to collaborate with Monom and set up an event as part of the ESSE. The spatial sound works will be selected and licensed from Monom’s archive. In preparation for the event, a Monom sound engineer will come to visit the venue for on-site capacity building and mixing.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR PHASE 2?
